Problem Note 42106: Information from a populated ConfigurationV43.xml file is not pushed to user profiles

In SAS® Enterprise Guide® 4.3, if a populated ConfigurationV43.xml file is placed in the %allusersprofile%\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles\ folder, this file is not re-created in the %appdata%\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles\ location as expected.
SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3 uses the following search order to locate the configuration files.
- For Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 2008
- %APPDATA%\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles
- %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles
- For Windows XP, Windows 2003
- %APPDATA%\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles\
- %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles
Currently, SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3 does not recognize an existing %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles\ConfigurationV43.xml file or a %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles\ConfigurationV43.xml file, which generates an empty %appdata%\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles\ConfigurationV43.xml file.
Workaround
To work around this issue, rename the ConfigurationV43.xml file to ConfigurationV42.xml and place the file in the appropriate location depending on the operating system under which SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3 was installed. SAS Enterprise Guide 4.3 reads the contents of this file and generates a new %appdata%\SAS\MetadataServerProfiles\ConfigurationV43.xml file with the existing information.
